Ypsilon Aelius II

Only the name remains the same AELIUS II is a push-pull hybrid monoblock power amplifier using only two gain stages with no overall feedback providing power to drive real world speakers with unmatched transparency and musical involvement.

The first gain stage uses a tube in single-ended class A operation, transformer coupled to the output stage. It is unusual practice to implement an inter-stage transformer in a solid state or even hybrid amplifier. With the transformer two tasks are achieved. Perfect phase splitting and low impedance drive. Thus no need to use an additional intermediate amplifying stage, so transparency and purity of the signal is preserved.

We developed under extensive listening tests and measurements a special transformer for this purpose with a very wide bandwidth of 10-75 KHz. The bandwidth of the transformer defines also that of the amplifier.

In AELIUS II a recently developed input transformer is added that extends the purity of the signal path even further. It also gives the opportunity of a balanced input in the amplifier, adding versatility of using longer interconnect cables.

The output stage uses components of the same polarity (N-channel), working in the same topology. The output of the amplifier is symmetrical so both output connectors, plus, minus, carry signal in opposite phase.

Great attention was paid also in the power supply design. It uses high current inductors for smooth and quiet filtering.

The output stage is self-stable, eliminating the need to use servo circuits for adjusting dc offset. Both outputs, plus and minus carry signal in opposite phase.

Holton Audio Ex Nihilo mono amplifier

$29000 /pr

The Ex Nihilo mono block class AB power amplifier is the result of more than 20 years of uninterrupted research conducted by Anthony E. Holton and Holton Audio in the field of high fidelity audio electronics. As the first member of a new product line integrating the most recent technological advances, Ex Nihilo was conceived from an idea to produce a no compromise power amplifier that could drive any HiFi loudspeaker in the known world. In order to achieve this, the Ex Nihilo power amplifier will drive 2 ohm loads with ease and do this at a continuous power outpu

The audio engine printed circuit board is a true mono block fully balanced topology construction with the entire power supply, protection and audio amplifier circuitry built into a 2mm 2 ounce copper gold plate board. The high current power supply feeding the output stage has two high current SMD bridge rectifiers feeding two banks of 48 low ESR filter capacitors for a total filtering capacitance of 225,000 μF. The input driver stage also has its own electronically regulated power supply. This provides extreme electrical isolation from the high current output stage pulses. The two electronic regulators feeding the input driver stages have their own dedicated and isolated secondary winding and bridge rectifier filter bank, providing a well-regulated and isolated power supply for the best possible sound quality.

The main audio amplifier uses 12 x 250 Watt dual die lateral MOSFETs in each output stage to transfer the enormous DC reservoir to the loudspeaker load. The Ex Nihilo is a true DC direct coupled power amplifier with no audio capacitor anywhere in the signal path including the feedback network.

In addition to this the Ex Nihilo power amplifier uses a DC Servo in its feedback network to correct DC offset to practically zero volts. Protection for the amplifier is managed by a smart power controller in conjunction with a 120 amp solid state relay on the output of the power amplifier for seamless protection and noiseless power up and power down modes.

The mono block cases are exclusively built out of 10 mm aerospace grade aluminium alloy panels. The unique anti vibration designed case harbor's a 2.5 kVA fully shielded encapsulated toroidal transformer, placed on its own patented double isolated mezzanine system. Together with a third isolation level, this system cancels out any acoustic noise. The two 400 mm heat sinks insure an optimal heat transfer and allow driving the amplifier at low temperatures at any power.

Each mono block amplifier is supplied with its own pro audio road case.

Vienna Physix Divina

The horn is radiating the high frequency range, and a 18cm bass-reflex system the bass, while the bass is transmitted by a 7 inch speaker mounted in a vented enclosure.

The woofer has excellent properties such as completely new designed magnet system which halves the distortion below 100 Hz.

In comparison to other products, even the maximum stroke of the bass membrane is unmatched in this class, and a guarantee for clean, dynamic sound!

The tweeter, with its coated silk diaphragm, is integrated in a soft horn so called Waveguide. This guarantees a stable stereo image even under adverse ambient conditions.

The production of the elaborate housing are carried out on high precision processing machines. For the stabilization of the housing walls  we developed a three-layer sandwich construction of damping and mass elements.

As in our flagship, the DIVA Grandezza, we use for the frequency separating filter components from the company Jantzen Audio.

Case: composite material made of 19 mm MDF, 3mm steel insert, 3 mm bitumen heavy sheet and hollow fiber insulation.

Crossover(frequency separating filter): 12 db design, if desired ( on request) impedance linearization for Tube amplifiers, which is recommended especially in single-ended mode.

The bass reflex duct flow  at the bottom of the housing in the striking distance of the woofer diaphragm. This enhance, the coupling between the Woofer diaphragm and the bass reflex port.

Multi-layer rack: The stand is part of the acoustic concept of the Divina.

The sandwich construction (steel-polymer composite MDF) prevents resonances reliable. The upper cross brace is used as a re-deflector of the bass reflex port.

SA Lab White Knight

€9000

Audio designers have two semiconductor devices at their disposal. These are vacuum tube and transistor. Tube is ideal for voltage amplificaition and has linearity range of tens volts. Transistor with linearity of maximum 1 Volts is meant for current operation. Tube provides required output power in union with output transformer. In the traditional solid state audio engineering context transistor does the same job by means of any kind of negative feedback.

SA Lab White Knight includes emitter repeater in the form of transistor module for current management. Voltage amplification is performed by step-up transformer of really unique design. The uncommonly complex transformer with pass band 5 Hz – 300 kHz complies to strongest requirements to it. The transformer is properly great SA Lab know-how and the heart of incredible White Knight.

White Knight’s creator Alexey Syomin supposes that traditions of solid state design with transistor as voltage amplifier and negative feedback usage are formed due to complexity and low manufacturability of aforementioned transformer.

The other most important know-how Mr. Syomin realized in White Knight is employing of different thermo stabilizing compounds within the single (!) module to provide optimal and stable temperature conditions for module’s elements. Transistors are mounted upon bottom layer of berillium oxide. Capacitors and resistors are placed in different tanks filled different compounds. It took more than 6 kg of expensive German compounds for amplifier producing. The module manufacturing is the task of baffling complexity and it requies much time. One might say the same of White Knight’s transformer.

White Knight’s bipolar power supply has separate toroidal transformers in their shoulders to prevent any “dirt” from mains supply. Four transformers are manufactured by means of highest precision facilities that guarantees highest power supply poles’ symmetry.

There are no negative feedback used in White Knight. Amplifier operates in pure class A before 20 W.

Military grade contact-sealed relay are used for input signal commutating. In Direct mode the signal’s routed bypassing volume control.

Kroma Audio Carmen

€45000

We created Kroma Audio as we felt the need to combine the highest level of High Fidelity with the naturalism and realism shown in a live interpretation.

The Hi-Fi market is saturated with dynamic, absolute reference acoustic speakers, but also with resonances that lead to artificial sound colorations, discordances, discrepancies, and imperfections in the restitution of the natural timbres of each instrument.

For these reasons, we came to the conclusion that another sound is possible . . . the sound of Kroma Audio.

Kroma Audio has exceeded the limits of sound reproduction that, up until now, only the best Hi-Fi systems have been able to achieve. We are tired of stunning, spellbinding loudspeakers that never let us forget that we are listening to a recording. Kroma Audio allows you to immerse yourself in a live performance with each listening.

You have never enjoyed such an overwhelming, realistic sound . . . such an unknown rich timbre . . . and such high level of detail that, up until now, seemed impossible to achieve.

Pure passion, pure emotion, pure magic . . . this is the sound of Kroma Audio.

Kroma Audio isn ́t just another company that makes loudspeakers. Our products are carried out from 30 years experience of designing acoustic speakers, arduous and intense investigation that has been done, endless sessions of listening and the use of our own technology and unique manufacturing and artisanship in the worldwide Hi-Fi sector.

In the manufacturing of our products, we combine the use of the most advanced technological robotics for the making of the cabinet, with essential handmade pieces by true artisan luthiers, to achieve a very special final product, unique and incomparable to any that is available in the market today.

Some of the manufacturing characteristics that distinguish Kroma Audio are:

Cabinet made entirely in Krion, a non-conductive and non-magnetic material that stands out for its high mass and the absence of resonances, resulting in no sound colorations.

Cabinet lining made of different types of wood, the same wood that well known luthiers use for making their musical instruments. Specifically and strategically placed for the greatest acoustic impact, they make it possible to fine-tune the behavior of each pair of loudspeakers as if they were musical instruments themselves.

The absence of metallic elements in the manufacturing of the cabinet. Not one metal screw is used: neither in the chassis, nor in the filter, not even in the fastening of the drivers.

Selected filter components chosen for their top sound quality, such as brand names Duelund and Mundorf, combined with very special NOS components.

Phison A2.120 power amplifier

The A2.120 power amplifier is based on the same gain stages as PD2 preamplifier making the sound signature identical to the PD2 preamplifier.

We have choosen a classic linear supply for the power amplifier as we have tested different types of SMPS and every time we end up having worse bass performance from the amplifier even is the SMPS is rated 3 times the power of the linear power supply. It is not something that we need to listen extensively to hear, it is obvious right away for everyone that have heard the difference from SMPS and Linear classic powersupply.

We have chosen to have 7 pair’s output devices because we wanted no saturation when driving the amplifier in bridged mode.  In bridged mode running as mono block this amplifier becomes a compact powerhouse having enough drive ability to drive the toughest loads.

Main features are:

2x120 Watt into 8 Ohm load
