Pure Audio Pure series

Our Control Preamplifier is an exercise in minimalism. We have removed as much as possible from the signal path, and used only the highest grade parts where they contact the music. The result is a preamplifier that sounds absolutely superb!

The heart of the product is a high precision 32 step attenuator utilising non-magnetic Vishay-Dale resistors. This attenuator gives fine control over the volume setting, and has essentially no impact on the signal passing through.

Our user interface has been reduced to just a volume control. Input selection is automated, responding intuitively to your needs. Complete flexibility is provided, with the preamplifier easily forming the heart of a purist 2 channel system, or integrating easily into a combined 2-channel / home theatre installation.

The preamplifier is constructed as a complete dual mono design, with entirely separate power supplies, signal paths, and ground systems. The interior is kept free of electronic noise, with no microprocessors, or other noise polluting elements. The result of this is that the signal that emerges at the output terminals is a pure and exact replica of that at the input, with nothing added, and nothing taken away. When partnered with our Reference Monoblock Class A Power Amplifier the two products interconnect and interact seamlessly as a system in response to your needs.

As with all of our products, the chassis design fully supports our musical goals. Constructed from heavy aluminium, stainless steel mesh, and supported optimally on three custom designed feet, the non-resonant, non-magnetic structure presents a beautiful, architectural look.

Our Reference Class A Power Amplifier is capable of conveying the emotion that is an essential ingredient in reproduced music. With careful choice of components and a straightforward signal path the resulting sound is pure and involving.

The amplifier is designed to work with domestic loudspeakers in typical home environments. The Class A Power rating was chosen based on what is needed to drive real world loudspeakers, while managing the heat generated during operation in a true Class A design. The power rating was also chosen to allow us to include a fully regulated high-current power supply. This maintains a very low impedance, low noise environment, from which the amplifier can deliver its very best.

Having chosen Class A operation for its musical nature we were conscious of the need to avoid energy wastage and so designed the amplifier to fall back automatically to a low power standby mode when not in use.

The amplifier’s operation is automated through both signal sensing and 12V trigger connections. When partnered with our Control Preamplifier the Class A mode is triggered when the preamplifier is brought out of standby.

As with all of our products, the chassis design fully supports our musical goals. Constructed from heavy aluminium, stainless steel mesh, and supported optimally on three custom designed feet, the non-resonant, non-magnetic structure presents a beautiful, architectural look.

Our Pure Vinyl Phono Preamplifier is designed to extract the very best from your vinyl collection. It is the result of a decade of personal experimentation as part of a search for the very best sounding phono preamplifier.

From the first few notes you hear through this product, you will know there is something quite special in what it does. From a silent background it throws up an involving, musical, 3D soundstage.

As with the entire PureAudio product range this is a dual mono design, sparing no cost in component selection. The power supply is multi-tiered and designed to create a silent environment in which the music circuitry can deliver its best.

The sensitivity, as delivered to you, is suitable for a low to medium output moving coil cartridge, and loading is user selectable from 47 Ohms to 47K Ohms. For customers who demand the ultimate we can custom build these phono preamplifiers with both gain and loading to special order.

As with all of our products, the chassis design fully supports our musical goals. Constructed from heavy aluminium, stainless steel mesh, and supported optimally on three custom designed feet, the non-resonant, non-magnetic structure presents a beautiful, architectural look.

Specifications:
Input: RCA
Outputs: RCA

PureAudio was founded by Gary Morrison and Ross Stevens.

Gary has enjoyed a 30 year career in the high-end audio industry, the largest part of that as a co-owner and head designer for Plinius Audio. Gary was responsible for the sound of Plinius from 1987 until 2005.
During that time he was instrumental in the creation of a series of highly regarded and well reviewed audio amplifiers.

Ross has worked as an industrial designer for over 25 years, with a particular passion for high-end audio. He has worked with leading designers, including Philippe Starck, and high-end audio brands including B&W, Perreaux and Plinius. Ross was responsible for the industrial design of the now iconic curved range of Plinius products introduced in 2002.

It was as a result of their collaboration on the design of Plinius products that Gary and Ross developed a close professional and personal friendship. PureAudio reflects their shared passion to create simple, innovative, and refined designs that focus on the very human pastime of the enjoyment of music.
